Impressions from the Øresund Region

The magnetism of "one destination - two countries"

The Øresund Region is part of Scandinavia and comprises eastern Denmark and southern Sweden, linked by the impressive Øresund Bridge. From both sides of the Øresund trait, the bridge is a striking spectacle. The 204 m high pylons are visible from far away - a new landmark in the Øresund Region. The Øresund fixed link not only consists of the 16 km long bridge, but also a tunnel and an artificial island. You can cross the beautiful bridge either by car or by train and the journey between the Danish Copenhagen and the Swedish Malmö only takes half-an-hour. The Region is a fascinating area full of contrasts.

Shopping in the morning and hiking in the afternoon

Hire a car and travel between Copenhagen and Sweden’s third largest city Malmö in only 35 minutes. Enjoy shopping or cultural attractions in the morning. And go sailing or hiking in the countryside in the afternoon.
Copenhagen harbour is a truly fascinating sight. Its many promenade shops and cosy restaurants, together with the famous statue of HC Andersen’s Little Mermaid have placed Copenhagen on the world map. Also the old harbour areas Nyhavn in Copenhagen or Western Harbour in Malmö have atmospheres worth a fairytale of their own. Walk a little further and you will discover why Copenhagen has won the award for Europe's Leading Cruise Destination twice and the award for "World's Best Cruise Port" once. Enjoy a mini-holiday in the Oresund Region. Copenhagen and Malmö offer everything you expect from two modern  Scandinavian cities: fashion, contemporary design, gastronomy and culture.

Malmö is both amazingly lively and tranquil

Malmö has an interesting, active cultural life that offers a wide choice of theatres, an opera house, and a relaxing city environment – in other words everything you need to satisfy your appetite for culture. But nature, too, offers a unique selection of outdoor experiences for those that want to work up an appetite in the countryside.
